[above – the Timaru population don’t seem to tire of playing in the water] . Not really a great deal to do and see in Timaru which we were grateful for since we could legitimtely rest. High points for us were looking at the penquins nesting down by the port and finding the first 50 metre swimming pool we’d ever swum in. The nearby park, aviary and beach were fine for a relaxing walk whilst we got our bearings. The rest of the time was spent looking at the signage …
