We’ve flown across from New Zealand to Australia and have a small apartment in Freemantle. After talking to a few locals and given the remaining time we have left we’ve decided to stay here and explore Perth and the immediate area. There seems plenty to do. We had hoped to get to the Margaret River but this seems unlikely as it’s Easter this weekend; everything will be booked. There is a lot to see south of Perth and we wouldn’t see much in the time available. Perhaps another year we could come back and travel from Albany in the South West to Darwin in the North.

An enormous cockroach in the bathroom welcomed us at our new apartment – it’s good to be back in Australia. If you want a laugh (not), check out the Australian Dept. of Health’s helpful guide about ‘3 common pests’.
